MyFiosGateway Not Connecting
If the issue continues after reconnecting your Ethernet cords, the best solution is to perform a factory reset on your Verizon router. This can fix many connection problems by returning the router to its original settings. Here is how to do it.
Factory Reset MyFiosGateway Verizon Router
Make sure that your Fios router is powered on before proceeding with the full reset to restore default settings.
- Locate the Reset button on your Verizon Fios router. It’s a small, recessed button typically found on the back of the router where all ports are located.
- Use a paperclip, needle, or similar pointed object to press and hold the Reset button for 15 seconds. A firm push is enough, don’t overdo it.
- Release the button after 15 seconds to allow the reset process to complete and fully reset the MyFiosGateway router.
- The LED lights on the router will blink as the router resets to its default settings and reboots. This might take a minute, so be patient.
- Note: You have to apply some force to press and hold the reset button as it is often recessed to prevent accidental resets.
After the router reboots, your internet connection will be restored, but all your personalized WiFi settings will be deleted.
To reconfigure your router, connect to the default WiFi network labelled on the back of the gateway box, then go to MyFiosGateway.com to create a new MyFiosGateway login and set up your router from beginging.
Why MyFiosGateway Factory Reset Is Necessary
Factory reset is important for fixing connection problems, frequent disconnections, and issues with the internet not connecting. It returns your router to its original settings, removing any glitches and restoring a stable connection. This process erases all custom settings, like Wi-Fi names and passwords, and resets everything to default. Resetting the Fios router is particularly useful if you have forgotten your admin password, changed network settings, or have been dealing with MyFiosGateway not connecting and your Verizon Fios Quantum Gateway WiFi not working issues.
Soft Reset MyFiosGateway Router
To keep your custom settings, login data, and WiFi password, you can soft reset your router. This method can fix connectivity problems and help restore the MyFiosGateway to a normal state.
- To perform a soft reset, locate the power cord at the back of your router.
- Unplug the power cable from the router port.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the router.
- Wait for your Verizon Fios router to reboot and reconnect to the internet.
After a soft reset, it may take up to 5 minutes for the router to fully reboot. Wait for all the LED lights on the router to turn on to ensure it’s working properly. Performing a Soft reset is like restarting a computer and won’t erase any data on your router, helping to make it functional again.
